Kayak and Yoga Trips in the San Juan Islands

NEW for 2009!!

No previous kayak or yoga experience is needed!

Kayak and yoga in the San Juan IslandsThree great days of camping in a beautiful place like the Sucia Island Group is amazing. Three days of sea kayaking and camping at Sucia is outstanding. Add in daily yoga sessions on the beach every morning and afternoon and you have a recipe for a truly memorable vacation!

We've been talking about setting up a trip like this for a while, and finally the stars have aligned and we are making it happen over a few select dates this July and August.

Like all of our multiple day kayak trips, these Yoga trips are all inclusive. Your paddling gear is provided, including dry bags, as is all of your camping gear. We also take care of all of your meals; breakfast, lunch, and dinner, which are tastefully prepared by one of your friendly kayak guides. All you will need to bring is your clothes, a camera, and a smile! We even provide top quality yoga mats made by Prana for your comfort and enjoyment!

Every morning and evening there will be beach-side yoga sessions which will help to relax your mind, warm your body, and tune you into the stunning surroundings of Sucia Island. Noted yoga instructor Djuna Mascall will lead all of these sessions.

Djuna sea kayaking in the San Juan IslandsA little about Djuna:

Djuna lives on Orcas Island where she co-owns and teaches at her Orcas Mandala Yoga studio. She is also a coach with the world famous kayak school Body Boat Blade. She combines these two passions in teaching yoga for kayakers at regional kayak symposiums and kayak clubs, and published a “Yoga for Kayakers” article in Sea Kayaker magazine June 2008. Years ago she began kayaking in Alaska working as a guide, and currently holds a BCU 4 star and Coach Level I.  She appeared in Bryan Smith's award winning film Pacific Horizons and in the spring of 2008 she circumnavigated the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska . Her yoga background is in Iyengar and Ashtanga Yoga and studies currently with Tias and Surya Little of Prajna Yoga.

“The key to gaining skills in kayaking is the strength, flexibility, and awareness cultivated through a yoga practice.”
