In our continuing effort to provide our guests with the best possible San Juan Islands sea kayaking experience, we have done what few outfitters out here want to do. We chose to "put our money where our mouth is" and bought the best equipment in the industry. After all, "state of the art equipment" is just words if it is not backed up with quality gear.

Are we boasting? You bet we are, and we can. We chose to use this stuff because You are worth it! We outfit our guests in better equipment than many companies issue to their guides.

Lifejackets

Let's start by talking about our lifejackets.

One of the most common complaints heard in the sea kayak tour business is about the musty, smelly, PFD's (personal flotation devices) that don't fit correctly. Our life-vests (made by Patagonia and Stohlquist) are, quite simply, the best in the industry. The low profile cut allows the side panels and adjustment points to lay close to the body, resulting in a snug, accurate fit. This virtually eliminates the "riding-up" effect that occurs with less expensive products commonly used out here. You won't have to endure wearing a stinky PFD on our tours either. We thoroughly clean our gear every day, and dry them in our storage facilities.

Our top of the line life-vests will keep you warm and comfortable. These flotation vests are three times the quality you would typically see on other tours and worth every penny. We guarantee it!

Sea Kayaks

Our fiberglass sea kayaks are made by Northwest Kayaks (a local Washington company), the industry's top manufacturer of tandem sea kayaks. These sleek, very stable, high performance doubles have set the standard for sea kayaking here in the San Juan Islands. You won't feel like you are paddling a "barge" when you get into these boats.

Paddles

Paddlers will also enjoy using Werner paddles (a local Washington company). They are high quality, lightweight, fiberglass paddles that won't wear you out.

Sprayskirts

Our neoprene Snapdragon sprayskirts will keep you warm and dry. No more "wet lap" from using cheap vinyl sprayskirts. Snapdragon has become the industry's leading manufacturer of performance sea kayak equipment for good reason. Nothing comes close to this kind of quality.

SKWOOSH Seat Cushions

We've outdone ourselves again. This year our guests will be even more comfortable. We've invested in your experience by purchasing new SKWOOSH cushions for our seats. These gel-filled pads add just the right amount of cushion to the part of your body that needs it the most. Originally designed for bicycle seats and wheelchairs, these pads take pressure of of your "sit bones", and takes your comfort level to new highs.
